“A Birthday Treat!”

When I learned that innkeeper, Tracy, Loves Tea and makes that experience a part of the variety of amenities in her Bed and Breakfast stay, I knew that La Belle Epoque would be a perfect destination for my Birthday trip. Choosing a Bed and Breakfast in Napa is not easy, as there are many choices. What sets La Belle Epoque apart is the attention to detail that Tracy has lavished on her lovely Victorian.

The room awaiting us on our arrival was in Buckley House, across the street from the main house. I recommend it highly, as the front porch is nice and it is quiet and private with only 3 other rooms in the same house. Tracy had left chilled Champagne for our arrival treat, as well as cookies. But, I immediately discovered the electric tea pot, which is an amenity I have never found at any B&B or hotel in my experience. There was, in fact every accoutrement needed to make a perfect cup of tea.

The Tea experience didn't end there. The fabulous three course breakfast included a wonderful selection of teas, including some special editions made by Tracy. If you have trouble falling asleep, ask her for her lavender decaf blend. Yummy! and very rest inducing.

From 4 to 6pm you can also partake of Tea and treats in the beautifully appointed living room in the main house.

I enjoyed every aspect of our stay with Tracy. Each morning the breakfast was different. Something to look forward to. Tracy's creations are culinary treats. Chatting with other guests at breakfast is one of the delights of a B&B stay as well. It is always interesting to hear where folks are touring in the beautiful Napa Valley. Which brings me to another of Tracy's fortes. We discovered that she is a Concierge extraordinaire. She knows the best places to eat dinner and we never went wrong. But the very best thing Tracy did for us was to hook us up with "Foodies on Foot" !

Not being as much interested in the wineries, we asked Tracy what other interesting tours might be available. She made a call and found a local offering that allowed us to visit several eateries and taste small bites at each one. We would never otherwise have found so many cool things, like a waffle sandwich or a deep fried egg or lavender donuts with bacon jam. The tour lasted 3 hours.

If you like Victorian Houses, you will find comfort and fun at this one. I am also very keen on the highest quality sheets and mattress. These were excellent, and if you want to purchase the same sheets for your own, I discovered that Tracy can help there as well.

Next time I visit Napa, La Belle Epoque will always be my first choice. I would certainly look forward to seeing what else Tracy has done with TEA!

"Perfect Place to Stay in Napa"

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights in April, and we were so sad to leave. Napa was amazing in general, but Tracy at La Belle Epoque just made it so much better. Her B&B is beautiful. Our room was clean and comfortable, there was always tea and coffee available, and there were 2 great seating areas in the back of the house for relaxing after wine touring all day. We were also extremely impressed with breakfast every morning. Tracy served delicious baked apples, homemade crepes, and fresh fruit among other things. The best part, however, was all of Tracy's great recommendations. We noticed that she does taylor her recommendations to the guests and does not just provide blanket recommendations to everyone. We were blown away by every winery and restaurant she recommended for us. My boyfriend and I can not wait to go back to Napa and stay at Tracy's B&B again, and I can not recommend her place highly enough to anyone else planning a trip.

“The COMFORTS of solitude and the PLEASURES of company!”

As I understand history "throughout the Victorian era, the bedroom was seen increasingly as a place of comfortable repose, a room not only for sleep, but for a nap . . . or for relaxing contemplation . . . " (American Victorian by Grow and Von Zweck). AND the bedrooms are just one part of the incredible "Victoriana" you experience with grace and fascination at La Belle Epoque! I am a testament to the varied ambiance that each of my four rooms gifted me on different trips. It is worth staying here a night or two just to see the light change in the original stained-glass panels.

The ongoing restoration of this classic California Victorian is being carefully supervised by the warm and delightful general manager/innkeeper, Tracy. Her knowledge of the era and her passion to maintain the integrity of this unique home is mixed with her talented selection and arrangement of complementary pieces which continue to tie the ribbon on this package for guests to open over and over again when they repeat stays! And they do!!!! When you furnish a period room, it calls for the designer to have an appreciation for color and form. Thank-you Tracy for recreating an historical experience!

And then, as most reviewers note, there is the food!!!! I can only say, you absolutely must experience Tracy's three course breakfast in the formal dining room. The menu is selected and prepared by the innkeeper and her caring staff; it is beautifully served and incredibly delicious! Wine country has more to offer than wine. Take some time out - go back in history and don't forget to enjoy the scrumptious and authentic afternoon tea!

Because I can trust the meticulously well appointed rooms, the truly lovely homemade food and the efficient and always kind innkeeper and her staff, I have booked four suites for all the women in my family to enjoy for the first of what I hope will be yearly reunions! If you are a B & B lover, put this on your next getaway list!

“Amazing Innkeeper, beautiful property"

We purchased a 2 night suite through and really didn't know what to expect because we had never stayed in a B&B before. Once I made the reservation, provided Tracy with the certificate, that was all I needed to do. I informed Tracy of when I might arrive and on arrival, she met us with a smile. No paper work was needed, either on check in our check out.

There was a reception when we arrived, then Tracy showed us to our Elizabeth suite. My goodness, what a beautiful room it was with everything we needed. Totally didn't expect that. There were 2 bottles of chilled Domain Chandon sparking wines and 2 cookies on the table. The next morning we came for breakfast expecting a continental breakfast (we didn't read it ahead) because of the price we paid for the room. But the breakfast was made right in the kitchen. Just look at the pictures on the website and they tasted even better than they look. Ordinarily in a restaurant it would be easily $25 per person. We were a couple.

Tracy was so helpful through out the day, the tea time in the afternoon was great (my wife said) and included delicious treats but I was too tired to get to so Tracy brought them to my room. Whatever we needed Tracy provided with a smile.

In short this amazing trip was so memorable in part owed to Tracy's service and the Victorian appointed room was absolutely beautiful, comfortable. The meals were delicious; I would be willing to pay a lot more for it.

“Wonderful time at La Belle Epoque”

My wife and I purchased the Romantic Decadence package for our trip. The massages were fantastic and the full service formal tea was exquisite. Tracy served an amazing meal with delicious sandwiches and exquisite sweets. The teas were delicious and included a homemade variety as well. Breakfast each morning was divine. Her pastries and granola were the best I've ever had. The Gamay room is beautiful. Stain glass windows were a treat to wake up to. The Jacuzzi bath very comfortable. The bed was perfect. From top to bottom, La Belle Epoque was an amazing experience and Tracy a most gracious host.

“Don't miss a unique experience!!”

I took my husband to Napa for his birthday. After an extensive search for the best rated B&B's we came upon this gem. Lucky for us most of the B&B's were sold-out. We decided to give this historic Inn a try. Upon arrival and meeting Tracy we instantly knew we made the right choice. You begin the feel the warmth and comfort from the moment you step into the house and check into your room. The Inn is conveniently located within waking distance to downtown Napa. Every morning you are greeted with a gourmet breakfast which consists of freshly made scones, delicious egg soufflés and poached fruit in syrup....yum! We enjoyed Tracy's meals so much we asked her for recipes. She promised she's working on a cook book. Her extensive knowledge of Napa and it's wineries helped us to make the right choices of places to visit. Her recommendations of places to eat were always spot on. Thank you Tracy for making our first trip to Napa a great memory. We look forward to visiting with you again.

"A Must!"

My husband and I love to stay at bed and breakfast inns. We stayed at the La Belle Epoque on the occasion of our 31st wedding anniversary. This bed-and-breakfast is stellar! The innkeeper Tracy will make you feel right at home. She greeted us warmly, remembered our names, inquired if we would like reservations and what our interests were for our stay in Napa. We had many fine meals while in Napa, however Tracy's breakfasts were the best! What to expect – clean rooms, period decorating done very tastefully, updated bathroom fixtures, luxury towels and toiletries, and afternoon tea with some of Tracy's baked goods. We highly recommend this bed-and-breakfast. Thank you La Belle Epoque and thank you Tracy! You rock!

“A Trip Back in Time”

Upon arrival we were greeted and given a tour of this beautiful Victorian by the Inn Keeper, Tracy. We so looked forward to this get away for our anniversary and it exceeded our expectations! With homemade cookies, tea and champagne in our beautiful room we immediately began to decompress. Tracy had reservations made for us for wine tasting and the wonderful restaurants in Napa. Her chef forte breakfast's were delicious, especially the Dutch Baby pancakes and sausage! The dining room setting, decor and music will take you back in time.

Tracy gave us directions for walking the streets to view the other Victorian's in the area, she told us the history of this home with photos and original antiques. She even shared wine with us one evening when we just wanted to rest outside on the porch. We imagined horse drawn carriages passing and candlelit lamp posts. We had a great time in Napa staying at a lovely home and a lady who truly adds to the experience of a historical B & B!! We will most certainly recommend La Belle Epoque for those who want to experience "The Beautiful Era." This house was 5 Stars!!
