French Vintage Motor Oil Advertising Poster for ‘Veedol’ by Granet, 1936

This is an Art Deco period French advertisement for Veedol motor oil, endorsed by the Italian car manufacturer Lancia. This poster features a bold blue border which thickens and widens at the bottom. Within the border at the bottom there is a detailed and realistic illustration of two different Veedol oil cans in the right hand corner, and in large bright orange typography, the “Veedol” trademark in the center. Above the Veedol logo is the front of a silver luxury vehicle by Lancia, with a woman sitting on the headlight in a sumptuous yellow suit. In the top right corner of the image is beautiful Art Deco period typography for “Lancia.” This a unique and sumptuous example of the French Art Deco period poster.
