This artwork is from Les Maitres de L’Affiche series; miniature versions of outstanding stone lithograph artworks of the most important advertising posters by the finest artists.
De Feure style displays elements taken from Art Nouveau, Oriental prints, and Symbolism. Perhaps more so, than in any of his other designs, he has taken these elements to their extreme, in this vibrant poster for Indian Palaces Teas. Using a wonderful palette of warm colours, interlacing the design with Indian design elements, and using a distinctly brilliant Japanese influenced layout, he creates such an enticing exotic image, that one can almost sense the aromatic flavors of the spiced teas themselves.
