This is a Mid-Century Modern period Italian advertising poster for Silca chocolates and caramels. It is a wonderfully playful image featuring a young boy in the center of the image kneeling next to a curving road made out of stamps with a variety of objects, such as bicycles and cars, on top of it. The stamps leads to a basket – full of caramels and chocolates – that is situated in the top right of poster. The bright colors combined with the playful characteristics of this poster creates an ideal Mid-Century Modern period Italian poster.
This original lithograph was printed by S.A.I.G.A. gia Barabino & Graeve – Genova, 1948.
