The artist Jules Cheret, under contract with Saxoleine (a company that manufactured oil for lamps and heaters) published 18 different Saxoleine advertisements (2 per year for 9 years).
At the bottom of the poster, it explains the quality of the oil by specifying ‘Extra Blanc, Deodorise, & Ininflammable’, or Extra Clean, Good Scented, and Fire Proof.
Pictured is a woman dressed in Yellow, turning on a lamp with a bright red lamp shade.
