Exhibition Poster for Joan Miro at Grand Palais, c.1974 – Very Rare, signed lower right

This is an original French abstract / surrealist period poster for a Joan Miro exhibition at The Grand Palais. It is a spectacular example of artist exhibition posters from his combined abstract and surrealist fantasy period of a Toucan.
This is a magnificently large piece created by Miro. This poster exhibits all of the brilliant, unstable and violent tendencies of Miro’s aesthetic. The whimsical blue, red and yellow accents fight for the viewer’s attention with the brusque black strokes and grey splashes in the white background, creating an evocative work that contains all the hallmarks of the late period of Miro.
This original poster was commissioned by the Ministere des Affaires Culturelles et de l’environnement – printed by Frutiger Et Pfaffli, Imp.
Arte.
Signed as pictured in the secondary image.
