This is a French Belle Époque period travel poster for Cabourg by Pal (Jean de Paleologue), a prolific designer of the Art Nouveau period. It is a stunning lithograph in color advertising the beautiful aspects of Cabourg, aiming to draw people to visit the seaside casino town. “Cabourg 5 hours from Paris Grandhotel Restaurant Cafe Hnoll Directorate Pattard. casino. theater. concerts. balls. the best beach.” The image shows a young woman with a flower in her wind-swept hair, about to go swimming in the ocean, which is colorfully detailed around her and throughout the image. It is an exquisite example of French Belle Époque period travel posters.
Signed in stone. This vintage advertising lithograph was printed by Paul Dupont, 1893. The image starts a half of an inch in from the edge.
