French Art Deco Vintage Automobile Poster for ‘Citroen C4’ by Roger de Valerio, 1928

This is a spectacular and exquisitely made French Art Deco period advertising poster by Roger de Valerio (Roger Laviron) for C4 Citroen automobiles. This large lithograph features a detailed, bright red convertible – C4 Citroen – driving out from a dark tunnel, on the bright green ground, with bold large white block lettering “C4 CITROEN.” It is a stunning image which exemplifies geometric designs that express speed, power and the scale of modern technology that characterized many pieces from the Art Deco period.

This original lithograph was printed by Devambez S.A., Paris, 1928. The image begins one and a half inches in from the edge of the paper.
