This poster was intended to promote a charity event for the victims of a volcanic eruption at Fort de France Martinique on September 21st, 1890. A separate text-only poster was originally made in the same size detailing the charity event, hanging side by side with the above mentioned poster.
It shows a mother and daughter (in orange clothing on white horse in the middle) at a race. The deep blue sky in the background showcases sparkles of fireworks.
While printed by Chaix company, the printer is not shown in this poster as well as in the Maitre de l’Affiche #129 due to the time restriction between the eruption and the charity event.
