Advertisement for the Public Service Company of Northern Illinois. “Supplying Electricity or Gas to 165,000 Homes”.
This poster features Medin’s serene image of a woman making candles by hand – a profession known as a ‘chandler’. The gas light (hint hint) illuminates her work and the clock, spinning wheel, and tub which surround her.
The company ended up consolidating with Commonwealth Edison (founded in 1907) later on.
