Tracy Mahr Innkeeper & Chef
Tracy Mahr, our Innkeeper and resident Chef, has been baking and preparing culinary fare for over 20 years.
The joy began in her own kitchen, cooking and baking for family and friends, and this desire spread to include baking for numerous special events and private families. Her culinary expertise has created many wonderful experiences both here and abroad, including working as a chef for a charming restaurant in the beautiful city of Prague, Czech Republic.
Her love of all things “Tea” has brought many opportunities to present formal “Teas” for numerous special occasions and charity events. The beauty and formality of the art of the tea presentation, as well as its food and preparation, is something she practices in her daily afternoon tea-time and credits the cultivation of this love and influence to her times spent in Paris, visiting many of its truly magnificent Salons de thé and sampling their spectacular culinary delights.
She looks forward to bringing the experience of the lovely formal afternoon tea to our guests here at La Belle Epoque at selected dates and times.
She believes that to be successful in whatever you do it must come from the heart, and her combination of experience as General Manager/Innkeeper and hotel experience as Director of Sales & Catering brings together all the elements of guest service that bring her great joy. A truly enjoyable and memorable guest experience is her number one priority, and you can be assured that everything that is presented and prepared for you during your visit here at La Belle Epoque is done with the greatest amount of respect and care.
You will notice that both upon booking and check-in we ask you if you have any special dietary needs. We want your La Belle Epoque experience to be the very best, and we do everything possible to cater to special diets when we have advanced notice.
Organic, Locally Sourced Foods
Your morning will start with the smell of freshly ground organic coffee brewing and coffee is available starting at 8:00 am in the morning in the dining room. Sit in our beautifully elegant dining room or relax in the charming front parlor reading the paper or mingling with the guests before breakfast is served at 9 am. Our beautiful cut glass goblets for juice, silver and china combined with a beautiful aroma to delight your senses and palate, will greet you and set the mood of our romantic inn in the Napa Valley.
Your breakfast starts with the very freshest organic fruit, followed with a wonderful entree and freshly baked pastries. Juices, home-made granola, and a variety of gourmet teas are also available.
La Belle Epoque Garden
When you check in at La Belle Epoque, you will find chilled champagne and our chef’s freshly baked peanut-butter chocolate-chip cookies to welcome you upon your arrival in your room. With our gorgeous Spring weather enjoy the grounds of La Belle Epoque; read a book, catch some sun, or enjoy your split of champagne in our beautiful gardens. Our new gardens and patio are a wonderful place to relax and soak up some California sunshine or enjoy a warm evening sampling some of the wines you have bought during your wine tasting tours.
The newly designed patios and gardens are secluded and adjacent to the main house and the Buckley House. Sit back, relax and enjoy the beautiful evenings that are so warm in Napa Valley before you dine at one of our many lovely restaurants.
